Educational Access

Is there really a problem with educational access?  Can it be fixed?

How can we bridge the digital divide when there’s not equal access for all?  In my opinion, that is a problem with educational access.   In many areas, there are still children with no computers and limited access to other technology (such as televisions, telephones, etc).  In our society, in order to have true access and bridge the gap for all, we must be near the same page.  In my opinion, it seems way too diverse in order to be fixable.  Yes, there are many things we can do to help, but to really call it educational access…that seems to be a problem.

I can’t see how educational access can be fixed either. All students do not have access to the same things. I know schools within districts that have different levels of access. I am sure we all know of the districts with the “chosen” schools that always seem to get the best of everything. We hear all the time that everyone can go to college. It is true that people can get financial aid to go, but I do not think that all students have the same educational opportunity partly because of diverse educational access.
