Education, Technology, Culture

Education, technology, and culture seem relatively connected.  In my opinion, technology enhances education which in return enhances the culture.  Instruction based on the methodology of technical knowledge of tools enhances shared beliefs of our culture.  We use a variety of tools (technology) to help us instruct and learn.  As they work together, they impact our culture by cultivating the social behaviors of our society.  There are many ways to use technology to impact education.  Technology can refer to any tool we use to communicate; therefore, technology relates to education because it requires communication.

Enhance is great word to use. I feel that we are always enhancing our ability to achieve goals. I watched a commercail the other day about an online university. It shows a proffessor apoligizing for holding students back with traditional ways. That educators need to adapt to the student and stop being selfish. The commercial goes on to show his lecture on iphones, podcasts, interent, and so on. I really felt that it hit what we are trying to do. Adapt more to the student and less to the institution, which is going to have to have to see a shift in culture. We hold on to tradition to tight sometimes, but I don’t feel that it should be thrown out completely.
